EncountersDuring Apollo 13 many problems were encountered. One of the first problems, was that one of the engines of the second stage shut off prematurely. This forced mission control to do a quick series of calculations. After all of that commotion, they concluded that the rocket was still able to carry out its mission. This was only the beginning. Later in the space flight, mission control radioed in, instructing the crew to turn on the fans within the liquid oxygen tanks. Due to the faulty wires, an explosion occurred inside the service module(contained the crew's oxygen and the ship's engine). There was no longer power and oxygen being provided inside of the command module. The crew and mission control encountered another problem of how they would be able to get the spacecraft back into Earth's orbit with limited power, food, water, and oxygen.
